EU Digital COVID Certificate downloaded from My Kanta Pages can be used as COVID-19 passport.
A minor can get the EU test certificate, certificate of recovery and COVID-19 vaccination certificate from My Kanta Pages. If necessary, a paper version of the certificate can also be obtained from healthcare providers.
Persons with no Finnish personal identity code can now obtain the EU Digital COVID Certificate as a printout from the healthcare service. It is not possible to get the certificate from My Kanta Pages without a personal identity code.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and the Social Insurance Institution of Finland will start preparing the technical implementation and operating model which will allow Finland to issue the EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate to people who have received a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in a non-EU country.

There are shortcomings in accessing the EU Digital COVID Certificates in My Kanta Pages, and the healthcare service or the supplier of the patient data system are able to address these shortcomings. Certificates have sometimes not been produced due to incorrect or insufficient entries. As a result of improvements in the quality of entries and retrospective corrections, a COVID-19 certificate is produced for as many as 99 per cent of those who have received the COVID-19 vaccination. It is extremely important to enter the data correctly at once also in the future. The COVID-19 test certificates are also produced for more than 93 per cent of the tests performed.

Comments are requested from client and patient data system suppliers and social welfare and healthcare operators concerning the functional and technical specifications of the Patient Data Repository by 19 September 2021. Two joint events for reviewing the specifications will be held in September–October.
The new Act on the Electronic Processing of Client Data in Healthcare and Social Welfare has been adopted. The Act will enter into force on 1 November 2021. The new Act will repeal the current Act on the Electronic Processing of Client Data in Healthcare and Social Welfare. At the same time, the Act on Electronic Prescriptions and certain other Acts will also be amended.

The majority of Finnish citizens can get the COVID-19 certificate easily from My Kanta Pages. However, still last week, some certificates of recovery were not produced, but the situation is now significantly better due to technical updates. In July, a total of 420 400 people have retrieved the EU Digital COVID Certificate from My Kanta Pages.
A minor can get the EU test certificate, certificate of recovery and COVID-19 vaccination certificate from My Kanta Pages. A certificate enabling border crossing can also be obtained as a printout from the healthcare service.

The Kanta Services customer service for citizens is currently inundated by questions about COVID-19 certificates. Please check in which cases you need to contact the healthcare service directly. Kanta.fi also provides answers to most common questions.
Currently, the vaccination certificates and recent test certificates are shown extensively for users of My Kanta Pages. Next week, technical updates will be made in order to display the missing certificates of recovery from various patient data systems.
The EU Digital COVID Certificate, which is available in the My Kanta Pages, will also include a test certificate and a certificate of recovery as of 14 July. The EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate has been available in the My Kanta Pages since 22 June.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has prepared the act on electronic processing of client data in social and health care. The Parliament initiated the bill in November 2020, and it was approved by Parliament on 28 May 2021 subject to changes proposed by the committee. The Client Data Act will have an impact on the sharing of client and patient data in the Kanta Services.
The EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate is now available in the My Kanta Pages. The two other EU Digital COVID Certificates, the test certificate and the certificate of recovery, will be available in the My Kanta Pages as of 14 July.
Finland’s national COVID-19 vaccination certificate will be updated and made interoperable with the EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate as of 22 June. This means that the EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate will be available to people in the My Kanta Pages starting on 22 June.

In the first phase of the national medication list, an up-to-date prescription list will be available in Kanta due to structured dosage. Medicine users, professionals taking part in pharmacotherapy, and healthcare service providers will benefit from the medication list.

The deployment of phases 1 and 1.5 of medication in the Prescription Centre and the Pharmaceutical Database will take place on 15 March 2022. In future, the current and the new version of the Pharmaceutical Database will be delivered side by side until the end of 2022.
Finland’s digital COVID-19 vaccination certificate is now available in the My Kanta Pages. However, at first some people may have to wait a while before they can view their vaccination certificate, as there are some delays in data transfer to the My Kanta Pages.
