Pharmacist Elina Lämsä’s doctoral dissertation “Pharmacy customers’ experiences with electronic prescriptions – A survey during the nationwide implementation” is publicly examined at the University of Eastern Finland August 30th. The dissertation demonstrates that the introduction of electronic prescriptions has been successful from the perspective of pharmacy customers.

Several usability improvements have been made in My Kanta Pages on 29 August. Parents are invited to give a consent to access the medical records under the child's records, and users can now see additional information on eye and vision care in their Medical Records section.

Changes to the identification methods provided by banks that are becoming effective in September will also apply to Kela’s e-Services and My Kanta Pages, which use Suomi.fi e-identification.
SuomiAreena will once again be hosting public debates about topical issues and Finnish society in a summery setting. The theme of this year’s event is expertise and innovations in the future.
The international Silver Economy Forum will be held at the Finlandia Hall on 9–10 July. The event focuses on the changes resulting from an ageing population in society and economy.

The section for testing aimed at system developers on Kanta.fi has been updated, and you now have access to the redesigned pages.
Finland has one of the best nationwide databases of health and wellbeing in the world. The Kanta entity is now presented in new videos in Swedish and English.
The possibility of using a Finnish electronic prescription to buy medications in other European countries is being introduced step by step. In January Estonia was the first country where this was possible. The service will also be gradually extended to other European countries.
The Kanta Services ecosystem will be featured extensively at the HIMSS & Health 2.0 digital health conference. The conference will take a closer look particularly at the My Kanta Patient Data Repository and the Finnish cross-border electronic prescription. The Kanta system will also be addressed by some of the keynote speakers.
The Kanta Services benefit both citizens and social and healthcare professionals. This is confirmed by the Kanta Services client satisfaction survey. The areas receiving praise are expertise, know-how, effective fault notices and smooth collaboration.

The Kanta client test service staging environment is a production-like environment that system suppliers and their client organisations can use for Kanta self-testing.
Taloustutkimus has published the results of the survey “Verkkobrändin arvostus Suomessa 2018” (Valuation of online brands in Finland 2018). The survey investigated the best-known Finnish and overseas online brands.
2018 was a year of growth for the Kanta services. Nearly all prescriptions were issued electronically and the number of users continued to increase. The number of disruptions decreased and new types of services called for by the customers were introduced.
The reform will make it possible for a person with a Finnish personal identity code to use his or her prescription to purchase the prescribed medicine in European pharmacies. Medicines can be purchased by using valid e-prescriptions saved in a Prescription Centre.
It is now possible to enter data collected with a heart rate monitor, fitness tracker or personal scales in the Omapolku service in the Health Village (Terveyskylä) and also view it in Kela’s My Kanta Pages.
