Social welfare services included in new presentation video of the Kanta Services
Finland has one of the best nationwide databases of health and wellbeing in the world. The Kanta entity is now presented in new videos in Swedish and English.
Electronic prescription issued in Finland can be used for purchasing medicines also in Croatian pharmacies
The possibility of using a Finnish electronic prescription to buy medications in other European countries is being introduced step by step. In January Estonia was the first country where this was possible. The service will also be gradually extended to other European countries.
Kanta Services featured at digital health conference HIMSS & Health 2.0 between 11–13 June 2019
The Kanta Services ecosystem will be featured extensively at the HIMSS & Health 2.0 digital health conference. The conference will take a closer look particularly at the My Kanta Patient Data Repository and the Finnish cross-border electronic prescription. The Kanta system will also be addressed by some of the keynote speakers.

The Kanta Services benefit both citizens and social and healthcare professionals. This is confirmed by the Kanta Services client satisfaction survey. The areas receiving praise are expertise, know-how, effective fault notices and smooth collaboration.

The Kanta client test service staging environment is a production-like environment that system suppliers and their client organisations can use for Kanta self-testing.

Taloustutkimus has published the results of the survey “Verkkobrändin arvostus Suomessa 2018” (Valuation of online brands in Finland 2018). The survey investigated the best-known Finnish and overseas online brands.
Kanta Services in 2018 – Significant increase in the use of Kanta services
2018 was a year of growth for the Kanta services. Nearly all prescriptions were issued electronically and the number of users continued to increase. The number of disruptions decreased and new types of services called for by the customers were introduced.
Holders of an electronic prescription written in Finland can buy medicines in European pharmacies
The reform will make it possible for a person with a Finnish personal identity code to use his or her prescription to purchase the prescribed medicine in European pharmacies. Medicines can be purchased by using valid e-prescriptions saved in a Prescription Centre.
Activity data entered in Omapolku in Health Village can now be viewed in My Kanta Pages
It is now possible to enter data collected with a heart rate monitor, fitness tracker or personal scales in the Omapolku service in the Health Village (Terveyskylä) and also view it in Kela’s My Kanta Pages.

Archive of Imaging Data is ready for use as part of the Kanta Services
The Joint Municipal Authority for North Karelia Social and Health Services (Siun sote) is the first to adopt the Archive of Imaging Data, which is part of the Kanta Services. The nationwide archive is now available also for other healthcare organisations.

An organ donation testament means that you wish to donate organs and tissues after death to be used in organ transplantation for another person. You can easily save your organ donation testament with just a single click on the Organ donation testament page in My Kanta Pages. If you wish, you can also enter additional information or print out a valid organ donation testament.

New free citizen's brochure on Kanta Services now available to order – Destroy your old Kanta brochures!
The Kanta brochures with outdated contents and look (Omakanta [My Kanta Pages] and Resepti – Potilastiedon arkisto [Prescription – Patient Data Repository] are now replaced by a single brochure for citizens. The title of the new brochure is Kanta-tietoa kansalaisille [Kanta Information for Citizens].
My Kanta Pages updated – performs better on mobile devices
My Kanta Pages get a new look and it has been developed to improve accessibility to mobile users. My Kanta pages is being developed by listening to the users. The features are improved on the basis of customer feedback, the client panel, and user surveys. My Kanta pages aims to be an easy-to-use service for everyone to access their personal data in healthcare services.
Kanta gets a new look and a new website
The Kanta Services has got a new look. The kanta.fi website has also been published with a new improved look and structure. Kanta connects citizens and social and healthcare professionals to the same source of information.
Integrating wellbeing applications with My Kanta Pages is tested in Terveyskylä – results are recorded in a service called My Kanta Pages Personal Health Record

Kela to deliver nationwide information management services for pilots trialling clients’ freedom of choice
Clients’ greater freedom to choose their provider of health and social services will be trialled in a series of pilot projects which to be launched later this year. Kela is building a number of service portals needed for the pilots. In addition, Kela will coordinate reimbursements to the health and social services centres and transmit payments from service organisers in the pilot regions to individual service providers.
