Use of MyKanta

MyKanta has been available for citizens to use since 2010. The majority of Finns use MyKanta. The number of MyKanta users has grown for several years.

MyKanta was used by more than 3.1 million people in 2023. In total, MyKanta was used more than 35 million times. More than a million individuals use MyKanta every month. On average, a total of 3 million logins are recorded in MyKanta per month. In 2021, citizens used the service in record numbers because COVID-19 certificates were downloaded from MyKanta.

The use of MyKanta is most common in large cities, Southern Finland, and Lapland. Use of the service is lowest in Kainuu, Central Finland and North Karelia. At the moment, Åland's public health care only uses electronic prescriptions and no other Kanta services.

Graph: Figure 4 illustrates the MyKanta utilisation rate by municipality in 2022. The use of MyKanta is most common in large cities, Southern Finland, and Lapland. Use of the service is lowest in Kainuu, Central Finland and North Karelia.
 

Graph: Figure 5 shows the utilisation rate of MyKanta by wellbeing services county in 2022.  In most wellbeing services counties, MyKanta is used by 60–70 per cent of the area's residents. In Åland, 46.4 per cent of residents use MyKanta. The highest user rates can be found in Uusimaa.
