Acting on behalf of another person

You can manage another person’s affairs on their behalf in MyKanta, when attending health care appointments, and when visiting a pharmacy. You can also authorise another person to manage your affairs on your behalf.

Another person’s affairs can be managed in various ways in MyKanta. The affairs you can manage and how you can manage them depends on the role you have in managing the other person’s affairs.

Managing affairs as the guardian of a minor

A guardian may act in MyKanta on behalf of a minor. A guardian can, for example, view a child’s prescriptions and health information.

Acting on behalf of an adult

An adult can act on behalf of another adult in MyKanta if they have been granted a Suomi.fi e-Authorization to do so.

Acting as a legal guardian

A legal guardian can act on behalf of their client in MyKanta, if they have a Suomi.fi e-Authorization to do so.

Acting as a person with continuing power of attorney

A person with continuing power of attorney can act on behalf of another person in MyKanta, if they have a Suomi.fi e-Authorization to do so.

Authorising another person

If you have a means of electronic identification, such as online banking codes, you can independently grant a mandate to someone else in the Suomi.fi service. This allows a trusted person to act on your behalf in MyKanta.  Authorisation can also be granted without online banking codes.

Managing prescriptions on behalf of another person

Prescriptions can be managed on behalf of an adult or a child, at pharmacies and health care services, and in MyKanta. Managing prescriptions requires either an e-Authorization, a Kela card, or the patient instructions for the prescription.
