Prescription service downtime on 23 May 2026 from 22.00

We will be making updates to improve the performance of the Prescription service on 23 May 2026 from 22.00. As a result, the service will be down for about 3 hours, during which MyKanta users will not have access to prescription data. Pharmacies and health care units will also not be able to access prescription data during the downtime.

During the downtime on 23 May 2026:

  • citizens will be unable to view their prescriptions or request a prescription to be renewed in MyKanta,
  • pharmacies will be unable to fill prescriptions or to submit prescription renewal requests,
  • thealth care professionals will be unable to write e-prescriptions,
  • citizens will be unable to purchase medicines abroad on a Finnish e-prescription.
How to proceed during downtime

We recommend that you collect any prescription medicines you need from a pharmacy either before or after the downtime. However, in case you do need any medicines during the downtime, pharmacies have instructions on what to do.

We have asked pharmacies and social welfare and health care organisations to prepare for the downtime. They all have guidelines in place for extraordinary circumstances.
