The prescription and patient data of Finns can now be utilised in new European countries
The movement of Finnish health and prescription data in Europe is expanding again. In the future, a Finnish electronic prescription can be used to obtain medicines in Latvia, and the patient data stored in Kanta will be available to health care professionals in Norway and Latvia if the patient has consented to this.

You can now buy medicines from Finnish pharmacies using a Latvian ePrescription. Similarly, Finnish prescriptions are valid in Latvia.

The MyKanta application will now remind all Finns aged 25, 45 and 65 of the tetanus booster vaccine. The reminder will help many people because it is easy to forget about vaccinations that are repeated so infrequently.

Changes to MyKanta customer service opening hours during Christmas and the New Year
MyKanta customer service will be closed between 24 and 26 December 2025, on 1 January 2026 and on 6 January 2026. The kanta.fi online service provides answers to frequently asked questions. The Kanta assistant chatbot is also available all day, every day.
