Some wellbeing apps and digital services are able to retrieve patient data from Kanta . You can use your patient data in a more versatile way by giving the apps permission to use your patient data. Wellbeing apps include various types of health apps, among others.
Once an app is connected to Kanta, we will add the app’s information to this page.
How do I start using an application that can retrieve my patient data from the Kanta database?
- Choose the application. Check the list on this page to see that the application is connected to Kanta.
- Download the application. Download applications only from official app stores or company websites.
- Install the application.
- Log in to the application. When you log in to the application, you must use strong electronic identification to prove your identity.
- Find the section of the application where you can give permission to retrieve your information from Kanta.
- The application will direct you to Suomi.fi e-Identification. Select the desired authentication method, such as online banking identification or a mobile certificate.
- Read the terms and conditions and give the application access to your information. Your patient information will only appear in applications if you specifically give your permission for this in the application.
You can view the access rights you have given to wellbeing applications in MyKanta. If you wish, you can also withdraw the permissions you have given in MyKanta. Access rights are automatically removed one year after the last use.
How do I use the application safely?
Kanta Services checks that the applications using Kanta data are safe to use and meet the requirements set for them. Applications that can retrieve data from Kanta are also approved by the Finnish Supervisory Authority.
Download applications only from official app stores or company websites. Do not download applications, for example, via a link you received by e-mail or text message.
Before giving the application permission to retrieve your data, please read the terms and conditions carefully. If you give the permission, the application can use your patient data as described in the terms and conditions.
