Operating models and recording practices

Operating models and recording practices

The national operating models of the Kanta Services guide the work of social welfare and healthcare professionals and their use of the Kanta Services. More detailed information about the national operating models is available in Finnish and Swedish as the service is only available in these languages.

Harmonised operating models and technically uniform data entry enable efficient utilisation of data throughout the healthcare supply chain. Before the deployment of the Kanta Services, the employees must familiarise themselves with the national operating models for the Kanta Services.

The national operating models include:

  • harmonised recording practices
  • principles of the use and sharing of data
  • ensuring the functioning of Kanta Services in change situations.

The authority responsible for national social welfare and healthcare operating models and procedures, as well as the guidance of structured recording practices, is the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (thl.fi).

The THL website contains more detailed information on the operating models and procedures, along with recording practices, in Finnish.
