At first, a national certificate of COVID-19 vaccination will be rolled out in late May, and the EU COVID-19 certificate will be available from July.
The national certificate of COVID-19 vaccination includes information about the COVID-19 vaccinations the person has received.
To be rolled out in July, the EU COVID-19 certificate in My Kanta Pages consists of three different certificates:
- a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19,
- a certificate of negative COVID-19 test,
- a certificate of recovery from COVID-19.
EU COVID-19 certificate from My Kanta Pages
The common EU COVID-19 certificate will be accepted in all EU countries. When the EU COVID-19 certificate enters into force, it will no longer be possible to obtain the national COVID-19 vaccination certificate from My Kanta Pages.
The certificate of COVID-19 vaccination can be shown from My Kanta Pages on a mobile phone or it can be printed on paper. The certificate has a QR code for verifying the authenticity of the certificate.
An individual person can obtain the certificates from My Kanta Pages after the information on vaccination or test result has been entered in the Kanta Services in the correct format.
The COVID-19 vaccination certificate in My Kanta Pages and the other COVID-19 certificates are meant for personal use.
The national certificate of COVID-19 vaccination can be used, for example, during border crossings in the EU countries that accept the national certificate on COVID-19 vaccinations. The EU countries can decide for themselves whether they accept the certificate during border crossings.
The EU COVID-19 certificate that will be available in July would be used and accepted in all EU countries after the EU regulation on a COVID-19 certificate has entered into force. A more precise timetable is still open.
