Interruptions in the services in May 2026

Planned update and maintenance tasks that may result in interruptions to the use of the services during the month are published here. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

1 May: Interruption in the Kanta Services

Time: Friday 1 May 2026 between 9am and 14am

We will be carrying out technical maintenance on the Kanta services. This will affect health and social care professionals’ access to the Archive of old patient data service.

Please try to access the service again in a while.

5 May: Short interruptions in the Kanta Services possible

Time: 5 May 2026 between 8.30pm and 02.00am

Kanta-service is undergoing technical maintenance work, due to which there may be interruptions in the use of the services.

10th May: Interruption in the Kanta Services

Time: on 10 May 2026 between 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM.

Due to maintenance work carried out in Spain, there will be interruption in the following Kanta service:

  • Delivery of e-prescriptions between Spain and Finland
  • Delivery of patient summary to Spain

12 May: Service break in Kanta Services

Time: 12 May 2026 between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM

Maintenance work will be carried out in the Kanta Services, affecting the use of the following services:

  • Kanta Ekstranet
  • Kelain.

Kanta Ekstranet will not be available during the service interruption.

For Kelain, it will not be possible to register a new user or modify the customer information of a previously registered user.

13 May: Short interruptions in the use of Kanta Services possible

Time: 13 May 2026 between 8am and 10am

The Kanta Services is carrying out technical maintenance work, due to which there may be short interruptions in the use of the services:

  • National code server
  • Maintenance user interface of the SOTE organisation register in the Kanta Extranet

13–14 May: Short interruptions in the Kanta Services possible

Time: between 13 May 8pm and 14 May 6 pm.

Kanta-service is undergoing technical maintenance work, due to which there may be interruptions in the use of the services.

19 May: Service break in Kanta Services

Time: 19 May between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM

Maintenance work will be carried out in the Kanta Services, affecting the use of the following services:

  • Kanta Ekstranet
  • Kelain.

Kanta Ekstranet will not be available during the service interruption.

For Kelain, it will not be possible to register a new user or modify the customer information of a previously registered user.

19 May: Short interruptions in the Kanta Services possible

Time: 19 May 2026 between 8.30pm and 02.00am

Kanta-service is undergoing technical maintenance work, due to which there may be interruptions in the use of the services.

21 May: Interruption in the Kanta Services

Time: 21 May 2026 between 10pm and 12 midnight

Kanta Service is undergoing technical maintenance, as a result of which there will be an interruption in the following services:

  • MyKanta
  • MyKanta application

23 May: Prescription service extensively down for a period on 23 May 2026

We will be making updates to improve the performance of the Prescription service on 23 May 2026 from 22.00. As a result of the maintenance procedures, services such as the Prescription Centre in Kanta Services and the Kelain service will be down for about 3 hours.

During the downtime on 23 May 2026:

  • pharmacies will be unable to search, store, or fill e-prescriptions or send prescription renewal requests
  • health care professionals will be unable to write e-prescriptions, and the Kelain service will be unavailable
  • citizens will be unable to view their prescriptions or request a prescription to be renewed in MyKanta.

We ask pharmacies and social welfare and health care organisations to prepare for the downtime.

29 - 30 May: Extensive interruption in the Kanta Services

Time: May 29, 2026 at 9.30pm – May 30, 2026 at 9.00am

We are carrying out maintenance work in the Kanta Services, as a result of which there will be an interruption in the following services:

  • Patient Data Repository
  • Patient Data Management Service
  • System for issuing declarations of intent
  • Imaging Data Repository
  • Delivery of Medical Certificates
  • Delivery of e-prescriptions between different EU countries
  • MyKanta: health data, consents and denials of consent, living will and organ donation testament, covid-19 certificate
  • New version of the MyKanta online service
  • MyKanta application; health data

We call on social and health care organisations and pharmacies to prepare for the interruption. Please try to access the service again after the interruption, if necessary.
