New terms of delivery, service descriptions and client account model introduced on 15 October 2018

No action is required on the current clients’ part

The new client account model for Kanta Services will be introduced on 15 October 2018. The client data systems will be updated and new versions of the general terms of delivery of the Kanta Services and the service descriptions will be introduced in connection with the change.

From service-specific client accounts to a single client account model

The client account model for clients subject to the general terms of delivery of Kanta Services will change from service-specific client accounts to a single client account model. Previously, the signature for an application-agreement for approving the general terms of delivery and the service description of Kanta Services was required separately for each service. In the new model, an organisation that is deploying a Kanta service will sign a client account agreement only when using a Kanta service for the first time and agrees that the general terms of delivery will also apply to all future Kanta services. 

Clients who are already using Kanta Services need not do anything with respect to the deployment of the new client account model. Their client account according to the new model is deemed to have started already on the basis of previous deployments of Kanta Services.

The general terms of delivery, the service descriptions of the Patient Data Repository and the Prescription services, as well as the terms of use of Kelain have been updated to correspond with the new client account model and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, which became effective on 25 May 2018. The general terms of delivery and the service descriptions will become effective on 15 October 2018 at the same time with the publication of the changes to the client data systems.

The client is not required to take any measures in order to approve the new terms as the client will approve the new general terms of delivery and service descriptions by continuing to use the Kanta Services.

Check and update your client data in Kanta Ekstranet

The client data systems of the Kanta Services will also be updated in the same context. The systems are developed in stages, and the updated Kanta Ekstranet will be available to clients on 15 October (https://ekstra.kanta.fi/). The changes can be seen as a new visual appearance of Ekstranet and the reformed deployment process of the Kanta Services.

The client data should be kept up-to-date so that we can provide the best possible service in issues related to the use of Kanta Services. Please check and, if necessary, update your client data in Kanta Ekstranet.
