Every service enabler using the Kanta Services uses at least one Kanta access point. An access point means the point of data communications where a service enabler that has deployed the Kanta Services joins the Kanta Services via a Kanta access point. Further information is available in page Technical connection models.
The access points of a Kanta provider must be using a provider service certified for the use of the Kanta Services or a certified information system in category A. Further information is available in the instruction THL 3/2015: Certification of the Kanta provider service and Kanta providers (PDF, in Finnish).
A server certificate granted by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (previously VRK) has been installed in a Kanta access point in production use. With the certificate, users of the web service can ascertain the authenticity of the service provider. Server certificates also enable encryption of the data communications between the server and its user. Further information from the page Server Certificates of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (dvv.fi).
Notifying the data of a new access point to the Kanta Services
The organisation managing the access point must notify the details of the access point to the Kanta Services. The details are notified with a Notification of change of access point (pdf, in Finnish).
The organisation managing the access point is the party (enabler of health and social services or Kanta provider) that is responsible for the implementation of the access point and applies for a server certificate for the access point.
The details of the access point must be known in the Kanta Services before the service enabler deploying the Kanta Services can join the service using the access point in question.
Data communication link of the access point
A data communication link of a private network must primarily be used in the access point in order to guarantee availability and quality of the service. The organisation that manages the access point shall notify the data communication links used in the access point when notifying of a new access point to the Kanta Services with the Notification of change of access point (pdf, in Finnish).
Change in the data of an access point
Change situations with an access point may include, e.g.
- deployment of a new access point
- change of the OID code of the access point
- changes in the data communication links of the access point.
The organisation managing the access point shall notify of any changes taking place in the access point or its data communication links to the Kanta Services with a Notification of change of access point or by contacting the Kanta Services by email to email@example.com (pdf, in Finnish).
If a change to be made in the access point has an impact on the use of Kanta Services by enablers of health and social services (e.g. change of the OID code of the access point or change of the URL address of the renewal request service), please contact the Kanta Services support at firstname.lastname@example.org.
