Deployment of the Referral and Epicrisis functionality

Deployment of the Referral and Epicrisis functionality

The deployment of the Referral and Epicrisis functionality requires that the healthcare service enabler has joined the Patient Data Repository. In addition, the patient data system used by the service enabler must be capable of entering referral and epicrisis views.

The Referral and Epicrisis functionality of the Patient Data Repository facilitates availability of care data between different healthcare organisations. As a result of the functionality, referrals and epicrises can also be viewed by citizens in MyKanta.

Requirements for the patient data system

The Referral and Epicrisis functionality can be deployed with information systems that have passed joint testing. You can check the situation with the patient data system used by your organisation on the page Situation of Joint Testing with the Patient Data Repository.

Deployment process

  1. A healthcare service enabler will check with their system supplier whether the functionality can be deployed and what tasks it requires.
  2. The healthcare service enabler can register for the deployment, if they need Kela's national support.
  3. The system supplier may carry out the deployment test together with a representative of the healthcare service enabler.

Deployment test

A deployment test must be carried out when the Referral and Epicrisis functionality is deployed in an information system for the first time. It is also recommended to carry out the test at other times even if it is not required.

A report on a successful deployment test is sent to Kela.

More detailed instructions about the deployment process and the required documents are available in Finnish and Swedish.
