​​​We are currently receiving are a lot of questions about the EU COVID-19 certificate, which is used as a COVID pass in Finland. In many cases, help can be found by contacting your local municipal health services.

Read these tips before calling or messaging the My Kanta Page customer service:

  • I cannot use the My Kanta Pages, how can I get a COVID pass?
    • Please contact your local municipal healthcare provider. They will provide you with a paper printout of the EU COVID-19 certificate, which also functions as a COVID pass. Practices vary by municipality, so check the official website of your municipality and keep an eye on any other information released by your municipality regarding the matter.
  • I have been vaccinated abroad, how can I get a COVID-19 certificate?
    • Please contact your municipality of residence to get your vaccinations registered. Currently, some municipalities will not issue COVID-19 certificates for vaccinations received abroad. More detailed information is provided by the municipalities, for example on their websites. As of 1 January 2022, municipalities will have a legal obligation to issue EU COVID-19 certificates for vaccinations received abroad.
  • What should I do if there is an error on my COVID-19 certificate?
    • If your COVID-19 certificate is missing information or needs to be corrected, the corrections should be made by a healthcare provider. Contact the healthcare provider that administered the vaccine or performed the coronavirus test. The Kanta services cannot to make corrections to the certificates.
  • What kind of certificate is valid as a COVID pass and how many vaccinations are required?
    • In the My Kanta Pages there are three different EU COVID-19 certificates, each of which functions as a COVID pass. The certificate can be displayed either on the screen of your phone or as a paper printout.
    • An EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate functions as a COVID pass if you have either received a full vaccination course (currently in Finland this usually means two doses) or have recovered from COVID-19 and received at least one vaccination dose. In order for the vaccination certificate to function as a COVID pass, 7 days must have passed since you received the last dose of the full vaccination course.
    • You can also use a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 as a COVID pass, if you have had COVID-19 no more than six months (180 days) ago and it has been at least 11 days since you fell ill (received a positive test result).
    • Alternatively, if you have received a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result within the previous 72 hours and are eligible for an EU COVID-19 certificate, you can use the certificate of having received a negative test result as a COVID pass.
