A technical problem prevents the sending of medical certificates and statements to Kela

Fault notification Written on 27.3.2023 All fault notifications

There is a technical problem that prevents the sending of medical certificates and statements to Kela. The problem first appeared on 18 March 2023.

Due to the problem, it is not possible to send the following certificates or statements electronically to Kela via the Kanta Services:
•    SV 75 Todistus raskaudesta (Certificate of pregnancy)
•    SV 97 Lääkärinlausunto erityisraskausvapaan tarpeesta (Medical statement on the need for special pregnancy leave).

Certificate of pregnancy can only be sent with new version

Kela is only able to receive certificates of pregnancy (SV 75) in electronic form if they are submitted using the new National Code Service version of the form. The new version was published on 21 March 2023.

The previous version can be archived in the Patient Data Repository, but it cannot be sent electronically to Kela.

Medical statements on the need for special pregnancy leave cannot be sent electronically

Until further notice, Kela cannot receive electronic medical statements on the need for special pregnancy leave (SV 97). This problem will be solved during this spring.

Medical statements on the need for special pregnancy leave can still be archived in the Patient Data Repository.

Print a certificate for the customer on paper

In situations where a certificate cannot be sent to Kela electronically, health care staff are advised to print a paper copy of the certificate for the customer. The customer can submit the certificate to Kela themselves, either by sending in the paper copy or by submitting a scanned copy in pdf format via OmaKela.
