The joint testing of the functionality to act on behalf of a minor can continue
In July 2020, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health decided that the data systems will not include default settings based on age for recording estimated capacity for self-determination. The joint testing test cases have now been updated to conform to the new policy.

The Client Data Act for social welfare and healthcare services will be reformed in spring 2021. The Ministry is advising social welfare and healthcare organisations and information system suppliers to prepare themselves for rapid implementation of the Act. My Kanta Pages works remotely and by mobile phone also during the pandemic. If you have not yet done so, please give your consent in My Kanta Pages for healthcare providers to also see your health data that has been recorded by other units.

How to get help with your pharmacy needs during the corona virus pandemic
If you are experiencing symptoms similar to a common cold, do not go to the pharmacy. That way you will not pass the virus on to other customers or the staff. Persons over 70 should remain at home for the time being. You can order medication and handle other pharmacy-related matters online or with the help of a family member or a friend.

During the spring, it will be possible to buy medicines in Finnish pharmacies with electronic prescriptions issued in other European countries. Currently, Finnish prescriptions can be used for purchasing medicines in Estonia and Croatia.

The Kanta Services has established itself in the everyday lives of citizens and healthcare professionals. Its user numbers are still growing rapidly. My Kanta Pages had more than 20 million logins during last year.

Acting on behalf of children over 10 years to become available in My Kanta Pages – requires significant changes in healthcare services
Currently, a parent or guardian is able to view data concerning a child under the age of 10 in My Kanta Pages. The need to extend the parent’s right to act on behalf of their children has been identified and work on this issue is ongoing. The objective is to complete the task during 2020.

Kanta no longer support oldest browsers and operating systems – the majority of clients can continue use as normal
Technical updates have been carried out on the Kanta Services and the kanta.fi website on 7 January 2020. If there are any problems with using the service, it is worth upgrading the web browser and the operating systems of the phone, tablet and computer to a later version.

User fees for Kanta Services in 2020
User fees for national information system services are collected from service providers and pharmacies that have joined the Kanta Services. The fees are charged twice a year.

Kanta Services are developed to meet customers’ needs – Kela takes over responsibility for deployments
The national responsibilities for the Kanta Services will be updated as from 1 January 2020. A prominent change for the organisation clients is that in future Kela will be responsible for supporting the deployment of Kanta Services and for practical client cooperation.

Terhikki number more widely used in authentication of professionals in Kanta Services
Up to now, social welfare and healthcare professionals have been identified in Kanta Services by the user's personal ID. Now the Terhikki number may be used in some cases.
