Social welfare services data in MyKanta

In the future, you will be able to view your social welfare services data as well as your health and wellbeing data in MyKanta. The data will become available in MyKanta gradually during 2023–2026.

The client or a person acting on behalf of the client will be able to use MyKanta to view

  • personal social welfare service documents, such as decisions, service needs assessments, and client plans
  • information about the start of a client relationship
  • the case worker’s contact information.

The ‘Sosiaalipalvelujen tiedot’ (Social services client data) section will be visible to everyone, even if they do not have a client relationship with social welfare services. In this case, MyKanta will show that no data are available in the section.

When will social welfare services data be made available in MyKanta?

Social welfare services data will be made available in MyKanta in stages. It will become possible to view social welfare services data in MyKanta once the social welfare service provider has joined Kanta and made the necessary changes to their data systems.

Social services client data will be added to MyKanta in stages from 2023–2026, so not all data will be visible immediately.

In the future, MyKanta will show information from all social welfare services:

  • services for families with children
  • services for the elderly
  • services for people of working age
  • child welfare services
  • services for people with disabilities
  • substance abuse and addiction services
  • family law services.

What information on social welfare services is included in MyKanta? You can use MyKanta to view social welfare client data about you that has been saved in Kanta by a social welfare professional. Social welfare professionals are responsible for ensuring that the information shown in MyKanta is recorded correctly.

If there is an error in the data shown in MyKanta

If you notice an error or omission in your information, please contact the social welfare or health care unit you attended. Social welfare and health care services are responsible for recording and correcting data. For this reason, incorrect information shown in MyKanta cannot be updated or corrected by Kanta Services.

Kanta allows data to be transferred from one professional to another

It is easier to manage your affairs if information flows between social welfare professionals. If you have consented to sharing your data, Kanta will allow your data to be transferred between different wellbeing services counties, for example, and the social welfare professionals who manage your affairs will be able to see your data.

You will be able to submit your consent to data sharing regarding social welfare data in MyKanta at a later date. We will inform you on the kanta.fi website as soon as it is possible for you to give your consent.
