Kanta.fi has contained cookies with no consent requested for their use
Kanta.fi has used two Google advertising cookies for monitoring the functioning of search engine advertising. The cookies have been removed. There have been no cookies in My Kanta Pages, i.e. the cookies have not collected health data.
Between 3 June 2020 and 22 February 2021, the kanta.fi website used cookies for monitoring the performance of search engine advertising in Google. Similar cookies are commonly used in various websites. The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation requires that consent is requested for their use. This consent has not been requested in kanta.fi. The cookies were removed from kanta.fi on 22 February 2021.
In addition, My Kanta Pages online school, which is connected to kanta.fi, has used embedded YouTube videos that have produced cookies despite the fact that the embedding has been made with so-called no cookie choice. My Kanta Pages online school was taken out of use on 13 April 2021. Kanta.fi does not use embedded YouTube videos.
Cookies have not been used at any stage in the My Kanta Pages service, and web analytics has not collected health data, i.e. data behind authentication. The visitor data of kanta.fi has not been used for targeted advertising.
The cookies used in kanta.fi are Global site tag and Event snippet. The cookies have collected the following visitor data from kanta.fi: the search terms that the visitor has used in the search engine (e.g. Google), the kanta.fi pages the visitor arrived at, the page they have moved to, or the link they have clicked and where they move to when leaving the page. The cookies may also have collected IP addresses of those who have visited kanta.fi on behalf of Google. Google uses IP addresses, for example, to estimate the location of users.
Cookies have been used for measuring the functioning and conversions of advertising, i.e. what a person who visited kanta.fi will do next. According to Google, these cookies will last for 90 days, and they are not used for targeted advertising. You can clear the cookies by following the instructions linked at the end of this notice.
The kanta.fi website is maintained by Kela. The event has been dealt with by Kela as a matter of data protection, and it has been reported to the office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
