Results of the request for clarification on the Prescription service: further efforts on data protection work are needed

The data protection officers of organisations have very little time to carry out their tasks. There is room for development in the guidance of and compliance with the processing of data, and the situation of monitoring and supervision should also be improved. According to the results of the request for clarification with regard to the Prescription service, a commendable share of the respondents from all sectors has drawn up a self-monitoring plan for the use of data protection, information security and information systems.

The Client Data Act was approved – awaiting the Government’s consideration and the President’s confirmation

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has prepared the act on electronic processing of client data in social and health care. The Parliament initiated the bill in November 2020, and it was approved by Parliament on 28 May 2021 subject to changes proposed by the committee. The Client Data Act will have an impact on the sharing of client and patient data in the Kanta Services.

EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate available in Finland as of 22 June

Finland’s national COVID-19 vaccination certificate will be updated and made interoperable with the EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate as of 22 June. This means that the EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate will be available to people in the My Kanta Pages starting on 22 June.

Deployment of phases 1 and 1.5 of medication in March 2022

The deployment of phases 1 and 1.5 of medication in the Prescription Centre and the Pharmaceutical Database will take place on 15 March 2022. In future, the current and the new version of the Pharmaceutical Database will be delivered side by side until the end of 2022.

Acting on behalf of another adult is now possible in My Kanta Pages

The everyday lives of many people will become easier as it is now possible to view the health data of another adult in My Kanta Pages. For this purpose, you need a mandate with Suomi.fi e-authorisation. It is also possible to use the same mandate for a number of other online healthcare channels.

The structure of the Specifications section for system developers has been revised in autumn 2020 and spring 2021. In future, up-to-date specifications are found on the new sub-pages under each service.
