COVID-19 certificates to include positive antigen tests performed by a health care provider

Notice - Citizens Written on 1.4.2022 All notices

From and inclusive of the beginning of April 2022, there will be changes to the EU COVID recovery certificate. From the beginning of April 2022, the certificate may also be issued on the basis of a positive antigen test (known as “rapid test”) performed by a health care provider.

Previously, the certificate of recovery from COVID-19 could only be issued on the basis of a laboratory-confirmed PCR test. The amendment is based on an EU Regulation.

The antigen test results will be taken into account retrospectively in the certificates to include tests performed on and after 1 October 2021. A positive antigen test result will also be included in the dose records on the vaccination certificate. The changes to the entries on the certificate will be made automatically. Up-to-date coronavirus certificates can be obtained from the My Kanta Pages or your healthcare provider.

The certificate of recovery from COVID-19 is valid from day 11 up to 180 days after a person has tested positive for coronavirus.
The EU COVID certificate consists of three different certificates: a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, a certificate of a negative COVID-19 test result, and a certificate of recovery from COVID-19. More information on the entries on the certificate and their validity period can be found on the Kanta.fi website under, for example, Changes to entries on and validity of COVID-19 certificates
