The certification process pages have been updated based on client feedback
We redesigned the kanta.fi pages describing the certification process based on client feedback from IT system providers, among other things. The certification process is for verifying the compliance of social welfare and health care services’ IT systems with the relevant requirements.

The MyKanta online service is being developed, and now everyone can record their measurement results directly in MyKanta. The first data that you can record are your weight, heart rate, blood pressure and blood sugar.

Changes to organisational customer service opening hours during Christmas and the New Year
Customer service for social welfare and health care professionals and system suppliers will be closed between 25 and 26 December 2023 and on 1 January 2024. Reports of disruption can be submitted 24/7 during Christmas and the New Year.

A person under guardianship can now authorise a trusted person to act on their behalf in MyKanta
An adult who is under guardianship may now authorise another person to act on their behalf in MyKanta. The change is part of a Digital and Population Data Services Agency project to promote the use of online services by guardians and those with continuing power of attorney who manage another person’s affairs on their behalf.

Email addresses intended for Kanta organisational clients will be merged
The electronic mailboxes intended for organisational clients, kantakehitys@kanta.fi and kanta@kanta.fi, will be merged on 1 January 2024, with the address kanta@kanta.fi remaining in use. The address for joint testing clients, yhteistestaus@kanta.fi, will remain valid.

Consent to data sharing will be updated – everyone will receive a notification of the change in MyKanta or from health care services
From now on, consent to data sharing will enable data about you that is recorded on paper, for example, to be shared in addition to the information available in Kanta when visiting health care services. This change will be described in a notification that users can receive in MyKanta from 30 November 2023 onwards.

Social welfare services data will become available in MyKanta in North Ostrobothnia
Clients will soon also be able to view their social welfare services client data in MyKanta. In the first phase, information will start to be available to clients of the North Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county. The data will become available in phases.

Potilastietojen luovutuslupaa on mahdollista hyödyntää aiempaa laajemmin – asiakkaiden pitää saada uusi Kanta-informointi
Luovutuslupaa voi jatkossa hyödyntää kaikissa potilastietojen luovutuksissa. Edellytyksenä tälle on, että asiakas on päivittänyt aiemmin antamansa luovutusluvan. Muutoksen vuoksi jokainen saa uuden Kanta-informoinnin.

The COVID-19 certificates may show an incorrect number of vaccinations – no action is required from citizens
COVID-19 certificates are now only required in exceptional cases, so there is no need to worry about the entries on the certificate. Up-to-date information on COVID-19 vaccinations can be found in the ‘Rokotukset’ (Vaccinations) section of MyKanta.

Treatment of Finnish patients in Estonia will become easier – Estonian healthcare will soon be able to utilise Finnish patient data
The change is part of an EU reform to improve the exchange of health data and the quality of care in Europe. The use of patient data outside Finland requires that the patient has given their consent to do so in MyKanta.

The new version of MyKanta will be launched in stages from autumn 2023. We are actively listening to users as we develop the service. The first functionality that you will be able to try out in the new version of MyKanta is the Prescriptions section.

As of 15 January 2024, the current interfaces of the National Code Service will only be available in Finland, including the Åland Islands.

Regulation on EU Digital COVID Certificate to expire – certificates continue to be available in MyKanta
The Regulation on the EU Digital COVID Certificate will expire on 30 June 2023. In future, the Certificate will no longer be used jointly by the EU Member States. People can still get the EU Digital COVID Certificate from the MyKanta online service if they need one.

The use of Finnish electronic prescriptions in Europe is expanding. Spain is the latest country to join the scheme. In the first phase, six regions in Spain will be included in the service.
