After performing joint testing, it is often necessary to carry out a deployment test before production use can start with the system. The test ensures that the system works with Kanta Services. The system supplier and the customer organisation will carry out the deployment test together.
What happens in a deployment test?
In the deployment test, a predefined test case is performed according to the instructions. There are separate test cases for various Kanta Services.
Test IDs
Only the 900-series test IDs can be used in deployment tests, and the system supplier sends an e-mail to Kela requesting these. Send the request to kanta@kanta.fi. In the message, explain that the user IDs are needed to complete deployment tests.
The same test ID can be used in deployment tests related to the production environments of different customer organisations.
Different test IDs are used in test environments than in the deployment tests.
The test IDs provided for production deployment tests may only be used for deployment tests. Different test IDs are used in all test environments.
In what situations is a deployment test carried out?
When a health and social services organisation deploys the Kanta Service
A deployment test is an established part of the deployment process for different Kanta Services. A deployment test is either mandatory or recommended depending on which service or functionality is being introduced.
A deployment test must be carried out whenever an organisation starts using the Patient Data Repository or one of its functionalities for the first time in the information system in question. In addition, a deployment test is required when an organisation starts using certain functionalities, and Kela is notified of this. Otherwise, testing is recommended.

The deployment test must always be performed when the Client Data Repository for Social Welfare Services is deployed for the first time using the information system in question or when a new organisation deploys the Client Data Repository for Social Welfare Services for the first time.
The deployment of certain functionalities in the Client Data Repository for Social Welfare Services also requires a deployment test. These include register access right of social welfare services and the functionalities for the management of data sharing.
Kela must be notified of a successful deployment test.

A deployment test must be carried out whenever a new organisation starts using the Imaging Data Repository. Kela must be notified of a successful deployment test.
A deployment test must be carried out when the Prescription service is introduced for the first time in the information system in question. In addition, a deployment test may be required when starting to use some new functionalities. The system supplier agrees on the completion of the deployment test with Kela by sending an email to kanta@kanta.fi.
Deployment tests in other situations
A deployment test may be required when major changes are made to systems.
If a new system is deployed, it must first be certified. Read more about the certification of the new system After this, a deployment test must be carried out with the customer organisation.
A deployment test can be carried out after the information security assessment has been completed and the Finnish Supervisory Agency has registered the information system.
A deployment test is carried out in accordance with the deployment instructions for the Kanta Service that is being introduced. For more information on carrying out the deployment test, see the service-specific instructions.
The transition to production use requires a separate deployment test in a situation where the system classification changes to A2 or A3. A deployment test is carried out in accordance with the instructions for deploying the Kanta Service. For more information on carrying out the deployment test, see the service-specific instructions.
If there are major changes to information system requirements or the Kanta Services specifications, for example due to legislative amendments, a deployment test may be required before transitioning to production use. In unclear situations, ask the Kanta Services if a deployment test should be performed.
For more information on carrying out the deployment test, see the service-specific instructions.
A customer must have the jointly tested functionality based on the legislative amendment in production use within the deadline specified in the Act. There may be a separate deadline for the information system requirement based on a change in the Kanta Services specification version, which is listed in the Kanta publication schedule.
If a major change is made to the system, a deployment test may be required before the transition to production use. The system supplier assesses whether the change requires a deployment test and selects the most suitable test case for the deployment test.
For more information on carrying out the deployment test, see the service-specific instructions.
