Reminder to renew your certificate of conformity – instructions for system suppliers and social welfare and healthcare organisations

Notice - Developers Written on 15.12.2020 All notices

System suppliers must renew expiring certificates of conformity. The status of a certificate of conformity can be checked by consulting the register of the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira).

Instructions for system suppliers

System suppliers whose certificate of conformity will expire in 2021 and who have not yet joined the joint testing process should contact Kela’s joint testing team to agree on how to perform the required joint testing.

Patient Data Repository

With respect to the Patient Data Repository, the joint testing required to renew the certification is carried out in connection with the joint testing preceding the upgrade to the 2016 level and the implementation of the functionality to act on behalf of a minor. If the functionality to act on behalf of another person will not be implemented in a specific system, the joint testing required to renew the certificate of conformity is carried out in conjunction with the upgrade to the 2016 level.

Prescriptions

With respect of prescriptions, the joint testing required to renew the certification is carried out in connection with the joint testing preceding the implementation of the functionality to act on behalf of a minor.

Description of the process

  1. Please contact Kela’s joint testing team by email at yhteistestaus@kanta.fi. Specify that you are contacting about the renewal of your certificate of conformity. If needed, Kela will set up a meeting to go through what renewing the certificate of conformity involves.
  2. Register for joint testing by sending the registration form to the above email address. You must have carried out the preliminary testing described in the registration form on the required contents.
  3. Please contact the auditing organisation of your choice to set up a security audit.

Note that the security audit carried out in conjunction with the renewal of the certificate of conformity will take place after the joint testing.

Instructions for social welfare and healthcare organisations

Social welfare and healthcare organisations are requested to check the Valvira register for the validity of their certificates of conformance which apply to patient and client information systems integrated into the Kanta Services.

Social welfare and healthcare organisations with a certificate of conformity which will soon expire must set up an update schedule with their system supplier and make the necessary requisitions to ensure successful deployments.
